Meet Dr. Kimberly Castelo

Hi, I'm Kimberly

(she/her)

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, and Certified Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist, as well as the founder of Healing Moments Counseling. My practice is rooted in sex therapy, attachment, social justice, and supporting all types of relationship constellations.

In addition to my clinical work, I’m a Washington and North Carolina State Supervisor, an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist Supervisor, and an EFT Supervisor. I also provide supervision through the Modern Sex Therapy Institute and The Cannon Institute. Guiding therapists as they grow is one of the most meaningful parts of my work.

I’m also a national speaker, passionate about sharing knowledge on topics such as faith and sexuality, grief, living with Multiple Sclerosis, high-tone pelvic floor concerns, menopause, and more. As a teacher, I believe education is liberating—it creates clarity, hope, and freedom.

At the heart of it all, I love helping people move toward deeper connection, healing, and fulfillment in their relationships and their lives.

Fun facts: I’m a wife, a mom, and an animal lover with seven pets—two of them being beautiful rescue horses. When I’m not working, you’ll often find me outdoors with my family and our horses, cooking for neighbors, practicing yoga on my porch, or diving into a new course on attachment, relationships, or sexuality.

Medical community

As you care for others, my job will be caring for you and your relationships. I have several years of experience as a chaplain working in a hospital alongside a medical team, so I understand the pressures you face on a daily basis and the effects these have on family dynamics. I realize it is important to find a place where you are seen as just yourself and not as a doctor, nurse, etc. If that is something you are looking for, then I am here to help!

I recognize that being a therapist and finding a therapist for yourself can be challenging. As we know, therapists need support in examining their own lives, stories, and trauma not only to enhance their lives, but their clinical work as well. I have extensive experience working with therapists for individual and couples therapy. My goal is always to facilitate an environment where you feel held and seen.

Supervision and Consultation

Supervision and Consultation: I love supervising and consulting on cases. I find working with other therapists on how to strengthen their craft to be something deeply rewarding.

I can provide supervision for LMFTA and LMHCA in the state of Washington.
I can provide state supervision to LMFTA in the state of North Carolina.
I can provide nationwide sex therapy supervision and sex therapy consultation.
I can provide nationwide Emotion Focused Therapy supervision to those wanting to learn more on how to work with couples from this approach and to those who want to become certified in EFT, EFIT or EFFT.
