Emotionally Focused Therapy

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is a powerful relational modality that is based on empirical science of adult attachment. 

All human beings are wired to seek belonging. We are not simply social creatures; we are meant to bond – create strong and reliable relationships with significant others in our life. 

Throughout our lifespan, these relationships and security they provide are of the most importance. They shape our nervous system, our perception of ourselves and the world around us. The quality of these connections becomes the quality of our lives. 

When these most important bonds become threatened, when our most important relationships suffer – the pain and distress are impossible to ignore. The experience can become overwhelming. 

As an EFT therapist, I help couples and individuals identify relational patterns that keep them stuck. Clients become able to access deeper meaning behind their experiences, learn from their emotions, and manage them in a helpful way. The EFT process empowers clients to reach understanding and regulation, improving their connection with themselves and others. 

This approach is about getting to the heart of the matter and generating shifts that create a lasting change.
