I am currently a Master of Arts candidate in Marriage and Family Therapy with the Sex Therapy Certification Track at Antioch University in Seattle which has a multicultural and social justice focus. I have two years of experience working in Dr. Gottman’s Love Lab as the lead research assistant. In the lab, I have been trained to code couples conversations to determine what causes the conversation to go negative or positive. Additionally, I manage the research studies for the Love Lab as well as the research team.
My training at Antioch University has prepared me to work with clients from a diverse background presenting with a wide range of concerns including, but not limited to: relationship issues, communication, stress, depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief, suicidality, and Trauma.
My approach to therapy is systemic; I view people and their problems within the larger context of their families and cultures. My primary treatment models are: The Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy, common factors, and psycho-educational approaches. We will work together to come up with therapeutic goals and steps to bring healing, change, and transformation to the areas of your life, you are looking to change. To support long-term changes, I highly encourage other family members and significant others to participate in the therapy process.
When not highlighting research articles on a Sunday morning in his bathrobe, Kyle enjoys writing for The Gottman Relationship Blog, doing Crossfit with his significant other, and cuddling with his cat Hendrix. Most importantly, Kyle's favorite thing in the world is a good hug.
